If you’re preparing yourself for a little change in the bathroom area of your home, like a shower curtain, then there’s plenty of options for everyone no matter what your budget might happen to be.
You could be a home owner, or you could just be renting an apartment, but either way, it’s nice to change up the look of your bathroom once in a while. This doesn’t have to be done using expensive renovation contractors- the materials for changing your bathroom’s look, can be very inexpensive for what you receive in return.
When you’re dealing with a remodel, or redecorating situation in your bathroom, it’s probably best to just leave the major stuff alone such as the toilet, sink, shower, bathtub, etc.. Changing these parts of your bathroom are certainly an option, but in doing so, you’re going to spend a lot more money.
One of the first things you want to look at when analyzing your first move, is the paint colors. If your walls don’t match anything else in your bathroom, or nothing in your bathroom matches your walls, you’ll want to start by changing one or the other. Instead of replacing everything in your bathroom, you should consider buying an old fashion bucket of paint, and get to work- a little sweat equity never hurts!
For a very nominal price, you can pick up one or two gallons of paint from your local hardware store and completely change the look of your bathroom simply by painting your walls a different color. When you choose your paint you’re going to have to think about what kind of feeling you want your bathroom to output, as different colors tend to have different feelings associated with them.
No matter what color you end up choosing, you’ll also want to make sure you apply some type of top coat after your walls dry. A top coat will allow you to scrub any dirt or scuff marks off your walls without staining or damaging the paint job.
After you paint your walls, the next thing you’ll want to start looking at, is different hardware for your drawers and cabinets. The hardware in your bathroom is one of the second most noticeable features, and can easily be changed at very reasonable prices.
Once you have your bathroom’s paint and hardware up-to-date, you can get into some of the more fun stuff, like the different accessories. There are tons of bathroom accessories out there to choose from, such as a yellow shower curtain, just don’t go too overboard with the accessories!
